Murphy v Brentwood BC [1991] 1 AC 398
Case against a Borough Council in which the claimant sued for negligent application of building regulations when a building defect was discovered and the property had to be sold at a substantial loss. It was held that because no physical injury had occurred as a result, and only economic loss could be considered.
