Based in The Hague, Netherlands, the ICTY was established by Security Council resolution 827, passed in 1993. They list their mission as: 1. to bring to justice persons allegedly responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law 2. to render justice to the victims 3. to deter further crimes 4. to contribute to the restoration of peace by holding accountable persons responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law. The ICTY site offers access to indictments and proceedings, as well as judgments from the tribunal, searchable via case number or name of the accused.
