This subject provides an introduction to the key features of the English legal system. It looks first at the people active within the legal system: the judges, the solicitors and barristers, the jurors and the magistrates. Then it looks at the structures for resolving legal disputes: the criminal justice system, the civil justice system and the alternative systems for dispute resolution (including tribunals).
